Overnight Sleep Over ...Dr. Samuel Lyle House
Dr. Samuel
H. Lyle, a beloved physician, who practiced in Franklin, North Carolina in the
late 1800s and early 1900s loved his
home, a beautiful Victorian set off from the beaten path, where he raised his
boy, watched the sun rise and set, whispered sweet love words to his dear wife
and in the home’s mirrors watched himself grow old. Many believe the good
doctor and his treasured wife after their deaths never left their home. Many
believe Dr. Lyle still walks his floors and watches the seasons change through
the windows of the old Victorian in the trees. Where Shadows Walk, Franklin’s
Haunted History Tour is excited to announce our newest adventure and truly one
of the most unique opportunities one might ever experience. Beginning this
October, the Where Shadows Walk team will begin hosting overnight weekend stays
at the beautiful and wildly historic Dr. Samuel Lyle house. The package includes
a two-hour classic walking ghost and history tour around historic Franklin,
North Carolina, wine and cheese in the evening, ghost stories in the parlor by
the fire by night and breakfast the following morning. Where else might one
stay in an amazing, historic, haunted mid-nineteenth century Victorian home,
deep in the mystic Appalachian Mountains, hear mysteries, histories, and true
ghost stories around the crackling fire as the shadows lengthen and the night
comes alive

Franklin's Notorious Unsolved Murder
In the summer of 1963 the small town of Franklin, North Carolina woke to a shock that stole away innocence. The lovely, young widow Frances Bullock had been brutally stabbed to death in her home. The suspects were many; the clues were disappearing and the case was getting colder. 50 years to the day, the Where Shadows Walk team will relive and unfold the true story of the unsolved murder. This classic who done it will astound and amaze, and of course the ghost story that arose from the shadows will chill guests to the bone.
* July 26th and 27th filled quickly and led us to do an encore presentation on August 2nd and 3rd. We feel we paid honor to Mrs. Bullock through these presentations. We brought her story to life and the audience was transported back through the years beginning in 1963. Her tombstone went without a death date for 50 years, but with on July 26th, 50 years to the day she was murdered, her death date was finally carved into her stone. The murder is still unsolved and may never be, but through these presentations we allowed people to get to know the person behind all the rumors. She was a lady, sister, daughter, wife (later widow) and friend who became legend in Franklin, NC and will live on in memories that cross the strands of time.
